Surgeries & Times


CHILD HEALTH SCREENING

All doctors see children in the surgery every day, but we also run a Child Development Clinic where we regularly assess the under five's in the Practice. This clinic is run in conjunction with the Health Visitors and is held on:

THURSDAY MORNING BETWEEN 10.00 - 12.00

 

BABY CLINIC

Our Health Visitors will monitor your child's development and are also on hand to give advice on a wide range of problems associated with child health. This clinic is held on:

MINOR SURGERY

Certain minor surgery procedures are carried out in the Practice. These are performed under local anaesthetic as arranged with the doctor. The doctor will need to dicuss the procedure with you before carrying out the minor operation.

 

DIABETES

We offer regular checks for patients who suffer from diabetes. To arrange an appointment for your diabetes check please contact the receptionist on 826724. This clinic is held on:

TUESDAYS

 

ASTHMA

It is important to have your asthma monitored regularly. To arrange an appointment for your asthma check please contact the receptionist on 826724. This clinic is run by our Practice Nurse on:

THURSDAYS

 

CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE

Our specially trained nurse offers assessment and review appointments for all patients with this condition. Clinics are held on:

ALL DAY WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY AFTERNOON

 

CONTRACEPTIVE SERVICES

We are able to offer a range of contraceptive advice. This service is provided during normal surgery times.

 

MATERNITY CARE

Care in pregnancy is provided by the Practice in conjunction with our local midwives. Our ante-natal clinic is held on:

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON BETWEEN 2.00 - 5.00

 

CORONARY HEART DISEASE

This is a nurse led clinic. Patients who have angina, patients who have had heart attacks or had caridac surgery will be invited to attend for annual review. This clinic is held on:

MONDAY MORNING 9.30 - 12.30

 

HYPERTENSION

If you have been diagnosed with hypertension (high blood pressure) you will be asked to attend our hypertension clinic where you will be assessed and reviewed. This clinic is held on:

TUESDAY MORNING AND AFTERNOON

 

We are happy to offer you a review appointment outwith the above times for any of our chronic disease clinics if you are unable to attend specified times.

 

VACCINATIONS AND IMMUNISATIONS

Routine vaccinations and travel immunisations are carried out by appointment with the Practice Nurses. You will be asked to complete a short questionnaire before attending your Travel Clinic appointment. Please contact the receptionist on 826724 to arrange an appointment.

 

SMOKING CESSATION CLINIC

Please contact reception for details of clinic times.

 

OVER 75 CHECK

If you are aged 75 years or over and have not participated in a consultation within the previous 12 months you are entitled to request a consultation. Even if you are normally healthy, your doctor would like you to have a yearly check up. This check up will be carried out by one of our Practice Nurses who will refer you to a doctor if necessary. You will be contacted regarding an appointment but if you are unable to visit the surgery please let us know.
